I thought it was average but then I’m not exactly the target audience right? The rating here is a compromise between Julia and I. The ending was her favorite. This clever twist on an old classic will delight children of all ages and encourage them to find a book that’s just right for them!
Znd really liked this and I really liked the fact that she liked it so much. But what will the three Libearians think when they come home to find Goldie in their cottage with her just right book! Goldie Socks sees the cottage on her shortcut through the forest.

I love the five finger rule for reading a book, I’m definitely going to suggest it during class visits. Their house is shaped like a book and when Goldie enters godlie goes through the book shelves to find the perfect book.

Snd read this every year in the Lib to my 2nd graders and they love it!!!! This is a fabulous re-telling of the traditional Goldilocks and the Three Bears tale! She giggled every time I sicks “Goldie Socks”. I loved how books were used in place of the porridge and beds, and how the chair bec Goldie Socks takes a short cut through the woods to school since she’s running late and comes upon a house made of books.
Goldie socks discovers a hidden house made of books where the 3 libearians live. As a book lover, she can’t resist the home of the three libearians bear librarians. We would tell the story of the three snakes or other golcie families of three. It really saved my life! She tries to find a “just right” book and place to read – then the 3 libearians return! I also like that the ending highlights how fun it can be to share books with others. Cute take on the three bears story that covers finding good fit books.
This rule is a great way for kids to find a book that is not too hard and not too easy, but is just right. While this is probably not the kind of book kids would choose to read on their own, it’s a great teaching tool for elementary teachers and librarians, without feeling like it’s just out there to teach library skills.
