The implications of such an analysis, which I think the author could have explored further and more audaciously it is as if he remained within the boundaries of the modern concept of “Art” are tremendously vast.

There have been many attempts to offer various versions of art history, such as feminist, Marxist and so on, but Shiner’s book looks at the evolution of the term itself, which sheds light on this very Eurocentric idea and its pretensions.
